The Seven Oaks Education Foundation (SOEF) approved a scholarship fund worth $10,000 for students in Winnipeg’s Seven Oaks Area.
At the February 15 SOEF board meeting, it was resolved that the proceeds raised from the ISKOLAR benefit concert held in October of last year will be topped up by SOEF to make up a total amount of $10,000 which will then be turned over to the Winnipeg Foundation “to establish the FMAACI-SOEF Music and Arts Leadership Scholarship Fund that will live in perpetuity,” as stated in the board resolution.
In a statement on his Facebook account, FMAACI President Ernesto Ofiaza, Jr. expressed his “sincerest thanks and gratitude for all your support of our ISKOLAR Fundraiser.” He also acknowledged the Pilipino Express, Manitoba Filipino Journal, and the SOEF newsletter for sharing the exciting news with the community.
