The Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre was filled with music from a wide array of genres as various artists performed for ISKOLAR Music & Arts Night this past Saturday.
The concert was for the benefit of the Music and Arts Leadership Award program of the Seven Oaks Educational Foundation and the Filipino Music & Arts Association of Canada, Inc. (FMAACI).
In a post on social media, FMAACI president Ernesto Ofiaza, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the community. “Maraming salamat po! Our sincerest thanks and appreciation for all your generous support for ISKOLAR Music and Arts Night,” Ofiaza said.
DJ and social media personality Love MJ emceed the concert which ran from 6:30 p.m. to roughly 10 p.m. The lineup featured noted Winnipeg musicians such as Levy Abad, Daniel Tabo-oy, The 12/21, Jovelle Balani, Keri Latimer and Acoustic Live in Winnipeg, among other notable performers.
Among the many highlights of the evening is a bilingual rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic ‘Hallelujah’ sung in English by Ofiaza and in Ukrainian by Yarynka Chepiha and Maria Balieieva, as seen in the video below.
